Lemon Grove, San Diego County
A ten-foot concrete lemon has stood beside the trolley station in Lemon Grove since 1928, a relic of the years when citrus packing houses lined the tracks. In 1931 Mexican American parents here won one of the first court rulings in the country against school segregation. Lemon Grove incorporated in 1977 and lies about eight miles east of downtown San Diego.
